Entry requirements
Details of the academic and English language requirements for your course are on our course finder. We help many students from China to improve their qualifications to meet entry requirements.
Academic equivalencies
Undergraduate
We require a 普通高等学校招生全国统一考试 (高考) National College Entrance Examination (NCEE / Gaokao) with a minimum score of 75% overall and 75% in any required subjects. Please note, courses with higher entry requirements may ask for a minimum score of 80% overall.
Students taking the 会考 / 高中毕业证书 Huikao (Senior Secondary School Certificate) will need to take and successfully complete an international foundation year or equivalent.
Postgraduate
We require applicants to hold a four-year benke 学士学位 bachelor degree OR a master degree with an overall grade of 60–70%, subject to admissions assessment.
English language requirements
We will not accept a Chinese English language qualification as meeting our minimum English language proficiency requirements. Find out more about our English language requirements.

Degree preparation courses at the International College
If you complete your pathway course at the International College at the required level, you are guaranteed entry to a degree at the University of Brighton. Available degree subject areas include accounting and finance, art and design, business management, law with business, and many more.
