Entry requirements

Academic equivalencies

Undergraduate

We require students taking the Certificate of Preparatory Education / Sixth Form Baccalauréat to successfully complete an international foundation year or equivalent in advance of undergraduate admission.

If, you have studied for one or two years at a recognised higher education institution in Iraq you may be considered for year one entry.

Postgraduate

We require a master’s degree from a recognised higher education institution, or a bachelor’s degree from a prestigious recognised higher education institution.

English language requirements

We will not accept an Iraqi English language qualification as meeting our minimum English language proficiency requirements. Find out more about our English language requirements.

Degree preparation courses at the International College

If you complete your pathway course at the International College at the required level, you are guaranteed entry to a degree at the University of Brighton. Available degree subject areas include accounting and finance, art and design, business management, law with business, and many more.

Home from home

If you're looking for a little taste of home when you're in Brighton, you can check out Shiraz in Hove for some authentic Middle Eastern cuisine, or you can head to Shandiz also in Hove, for something a little more laid back you can go to We Love Falafel in the North Laines, and to make food from home at home you can get all the ingredients you need from Taj Grocery on London Road.

There are also a number of societies you can get involved with where you can find like-minded people with similar interests which gives you the opportunity to be involved in society events to help you ease into student life and get familiar with the city. If you can't find a society that suits your interests then you can start your own society!

Whether you are studying an undergraduate degree or adding to your existing qualifications with a masters’ course, it's important to think about how you will use your time at university and your degree course to help you find your job when you graduate.
