Entry requirements

Academic equivalencies

Undergraduate

We require a Korean High School Diploma plus an international foundation year or equivalent.

Students with the first year of a South Korean bachelor degree (Haksa) or an Associate Degree / Junior College Diploma (jeonmun haksa / jun haksa) can be considered on a case-by-case basis, and may be considered for advanced entry subject to admissions assessment.

Postgraduate

We require applicants to hold either a bachelor’s degree (Haksa 학사) with a GPA of 2.6/4.0 or 2.8/4.5, or a masters degree (Suksa 석사) from a prestigious Korean university.

English language requirements

We will not accept a South Korean English language qualification as meeting our minimum English language proficiency requirements. Find out more about our English language requirements.

Degree preparation courses at the International College

If you complete your pathway course at the International College at the required level, you are guaranteed entry to a degree at the University of Brighton. Available degree subject areas include accounting and finance, art and design, business management, law with business, and many more.

If you're looking for a little taste of home when you're in Brighton, you can check out O'Shio Japanese and Korean restaurant by Brighton station for some tasty Korean cuisine, or you can head to Kogi on London Road for some authentic Korean BBQ, you should check out Chikini to try some delicious Korean fried chicken, and for a 100% vegan menu you should try Bonsai Plant Kitchen on Baker Street.

There are also a number of societies you can get involved with where you can find like-minded people with similar interests which gives you the opportunity to be involved in society events to help you ease into student life and get familiar with the city. If you can't find a society that suits your interests then you can start your own society!
