Julie was presented with the ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ from the College and University Business Officers’ (CUBO), the professional association for senior managers in higher education, at a ceremony at the University of Kent.
Judges were impressed by Julie’s commitment to hospitality in higher education, for being in the Public Sector Top 100 influencers for five years running, and receiving the Cateys Public Sector Caterer Award. They pointed to her continued work to drive innovation in her role at the University of Brighton and her contribution as Chair of The University Caterers Organisation (TUCO) for six years made her a standout candidate for the award.
Julie said: “It’s such an honour. To know you’ve been nominated by your peers is quite overwhelming and to have my contributions recognised by CUBO in this way is really special. It was completely unexpected.”
Matt White, TUCO Chair, said: “The passion and tireless effort Julie has demonstrated to university hospitality services and the health and wellbeing of students and staff over the years make her a very deserving recipient of this award – a huge well done from us all at TUCO.”
