The university’s Vice-Chancellor Professor Debra Humphris said: “This is a wonderful opportunity for the entire community to celebrate diversity – the more we are open and active about issues the more we break down barriers.
“The university is committed to providing a fair environment that embodies and promotes equality of opportunity and we value the different contributions and experiences of all who make up our community.
“We are a proud Stonewall Diversity Champion, a programme supporting and promoting fair practice in the employment of LGBT staff, and we encourage research by supporting PhDs on trans issues. We recently hosted the trans inclusive 2017 Lesbian Lives Conference, along with feminist scholars from University College Dublin.
“I am sure this weekend's events will be tremendously successful and will take us another step forward towards a more inclusive society.”
