Fine art painting student Elliot Nehra and graduates Nettle Grellier and Jake Grewal are among the artists showcased at the Delphian Open Call Exhibition, London’s biggest open submission gallery show.
The exhibition runs until 11 April, on Monday to Friday from 9am to 7pm.
Elliot Nehra said: “I’m really thrilled to be exhibiting among some of my favourite artists, in such a prestigious gallery. As a second year painting student it’s really great that people are taking notice of students who are trying to emerge in the art world. I’ve had a good couple of months in the studio where my work’s been going well so it’s really pleasing to be rewarded and have the painting recognised.”
Of the painting that will be displayed at the Delphian Gallery, ‘The Morning After,’ Elliott said: “It was part of a recent body of work I included in my first solo show ‘A Hermit’s Wonderland’. The paintings were inspired by the everyday and materialised as an instinctive response to the world, commenting on my life, experiences, feelings, memories and background. The multifaceted, complicated nature of masculinity, of being and becoming a man is being explored.”
