The announcement was made by Universities Minister for England Chris Skidmore.
EU Students commencing study in this year will also still be able to apply for loans to cover their tuition fees throughout their degree, regardless of the outcome of Brexit, which is expected to happen on 31 October. This pertains to both undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Reacting to the announcement, Vice-Chancellor Professor Debra Humphris said: “We are delighted that EU students starting a degree in 2020-2021 will be eligible for the same fees as students from the UK for the duration of their studies.
“Students from countries across Europe, and the wider world, make a huge contribution to the global community of the university.”
