We work with a number of universities overseas to offer student exchange opportunities. Your course leader can let you know if there are exchange options within your school.
Some courses at the University of Brighton have student exchange elements incorporated into the course, others offer an exchange as an optional extra. Some exchanges take place over an academic year, others are for one semester or sometimes a shorter duration. Please check with your course tutors to find out about the options for your course.
Do I need to pay to join a student exchange?
Students pay their tuition fees as normal to their home institution and you can apply for full student finance as usual. You will, however, need to cover accommodation and living costs while taking part in the exchange, and depending on where you go, travel costs may be higher.
Is there extra funding available?
Once you have an exchange confirmed you may be able to apply for funding towards your exchange through the Turing scheme.
Will I need a visa?
It depends on where you’re going! Check the gov.uk website for guidance for UK students studying abroad in the EU and advice for UK nationals living abroad.
