When you register
When you register you will need to provide photographic ID and proof of your address.
If you register with our on-site medical centre you will also need proof that you are a student, for example a copy of your current student card or library card. Registration with our on-site centres will take place online – please do not drop in to the centre to register.
Keep your GP informed of your current address and phone number or you may no longer be registered.
International students
All students studying in the UK for six months or more are eligible for healthcare through the National Health Service (NHS). All international students are required to pay an immigration health surcharge of £470 per year to be eligible for NHS treatment.
Students studying for shorter periods can use NHS services but will usually be expected to pay. Even if you are eligible for free treatment you should take out adequate health insurance to cover other medical related costs.
