How you can help
If you are a user of health or social care services you can get involved by sharing your experiences. Your feedback and engagement can make a real difference to our courses and our students experiences.
We offer a range of opportunities for you to get involved and will support you with full training, as well as offering you a service user contract to ensure you can be paid for your time.
Student interviews and recruitment
You can help by being part of our interviews - this could include:
- being on an interview panel
- reviewing candidate questions
- feeding back on our interview processes.
Student assessments
You can help by being part of the assessment process - this could include:
- being a 'patient' in an assessment
- listening to presentations
- reviewing materials that students submit
- feeding into how assessments are created.
Student learning
You can help by being part of our teaching sessions - this could include:
- sharing your experiences as a service user with students
- listening to student experiences of health care provision
- participating in practical skills sessions.
Quality processes
You can help by helping to review our courses - this could include:
- reviewing course documents
- working with course teams to co-design the curriculum for students
- attending school quality meetings to ensure that processes are followed and that the service users voice is represented
- feeding into the school leadership structure of the school.
For all of these roles and opportunities, you will be fully supported by staff and offered appropriate training and supervision where needed.
