This research project has been commissioned and funded by NHS Nottingham City Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) but is being co-ordinated and delivered by an independent research team from the University of Leicester (Dr Rebecca Barnes – Principal Investigator – Dr Clare Gunby and Dr Tammy Ayres) and the University of Brighton (Professor Katherine Johnson), following a competitive tendering process.
Research data will be collected using various different methods, thus building up a comprehensive understanding of the extent to which existing mental health services in Nottingham meet the needs of the LGBT+ population and underpin recommendations to support future commissioning and service uptake.

This project commenced in December 2017 and will continue until June 2018.
The aim of this research project is to inform how Nottingham City NHS CCG can best commission primary and community health services to meet the mental health needs of LGBT+ individuals and to promote and support uptake of related services.
The project is ongoing; findings, output and impact will be updated in due course.
