The new starters are all employed on higher and degree apprenticeship programmes in sectors including business and management, construction and the built environment, health and science, and teaching.
Apprentices from Brighton-based HOP Consulting started their degree apprenticeships in civil engineering. Ria French, who runs apprenticeship recruitment at HOP said: “Apprenticeships are integral to our business’s structure, and all of our apprenticeships on the technical side of the business go through to degree level.
“Our model is based on training, development and coaching, and our staff work their way up to become line leaders, chartered engineers, and in some cases associates and directors.”
The University of Brighton now has over 300 apprentices, many studying at degree or masters level on 12 different apprenticeship programmes, with more in development.
