Over 500,000,000 people worldwide live with diabetes, with numbers increasing every year. For people with Type 1 Diabetes, daily life exists in a balance between measuring levels of glucose in the blood and injecting insulin to keep that blood glucose within a healthy target range.
Can we replace the damaged insulin-producing cells in people with diabetes? Well, the answer is yes, but how this can be achieved may surprise you. The cells in our body work beautifully because they talk to each other.
